warn m8000 or mile marker pec8

i am going to install an arb bull bar on my 4runner this week. i have to go pick it up from 4wheel parts in temecula. i really want a winch and i have narrowed my results down to the warn m8000 for $529.99 shipped and the mm pec8 for $369.99 shipped. i know the warn in a better winch but i was wondering if the mm is okay. does anyone have any personal info on these brands / models

thanks

I had an 8k Mile Marker winch and it broke the first time I used it (trying to pull out a 2WD Chevy S-10, very light). I returned the Mile Marker to Costco, bought a Warn M8000 and it has worked every time I've needed it.

Mile markers will get the job done but VERY slowly. And theyre not super reliable from what i've seen on the trail. A winch is one of the last things you want to be sketchy

My Warn 8000 is pretty old, i got it used and beat the hell out of it every trip out as well as submerging it in mud on a weekly basis it's never once failed me and it reels in about 10x faster than my buddies' mile markers

With a load on it it spools slowly which is what you want but when your just spooling cable back up its quite quick

See what i'm saying j-money?

Our winches worked side by side on this little situation

Ultimately, the warn took victory over the mile marker and the driver of the rock buggy

Gloves, snatch block and a tree trunk protector. I'm not a tree hugger but I hate to see someone kill a tree just to pull their rig out of the mud.

Stay away from the milemarker winches. Everyone I've seen has always been sketchy and it sounds like its full of rocks when running.

MM claims the horrible noise is a safety feature so people around can hear the winch running and stay clear J/K.

sounds like the warn is worth the extra money. looks like i will get that because i dont want a p.o.s. and thats worth $130 more to me. no saying milemarker doesnt have okay products. its just i dont want to risk it because you never know when you need it

i hope i will be happy. maybe i can get 4 wheel parts to come down a little on the cheap price because i bought an arb last week, drove almost 2 hours to the store to pick it up, got it home and it had a huge dent in the bar around the lights, so now i get to drive down there to get another when it comes in and bring the dented one back! i think i should get 10% off
