Yes I did search but it didn't seem to solve my problem

I am finally getting tired of a vibration Ithat appears at 60 and disappear at above 70mph. I have 5spd 1999 4runner and I notice the vibration both on accellaration and slowing down.

This has happened with two different set of tires regardless on whether the dealer or someone else balances them. I doesn't seem to be a balancing issue as rotating the tires does not fix or change it.

I have had the driveline lubed and it didn't help.

The steering seems fine, though I can't rule it out

I replaced all my shucks/strut with no change either.

I notice it in the drive line if I hold the shift knob, but not if I press down the clutch (so not rear axel or driveshaft I guess). I can stil feel it in the rest of the truck (steering wheel, pedal, door etc).

Does anyone have any suggestions on what it can be and how to fix it? Thanks

Sounds like tires are not balanced properly. A common problem amongst all of us.

Try a different set of wheels/tires. That way you eliminate the current wheel/tire as a variable. If problem persists it could be a dinged driveshaft. Balance driveshaft if necessary. If problem goes away you know it's the wheels/tires combo.

Try roadforce balancing the tires. More money but has worked well for me.

But wouldn't I still feel the vibration in the shifter with a depressed clutch if it was the driveshaft? Wouldn't the driveshaft still be rotating and causing the issue?

I guess it could still be balancing but with two different sets of tires (currently running Bridgestone Dueler Revo)

My fear is that is steering related.

Does your truck have any lift mods on it?
Has it been aligned lately?
Did you check the tie rods/wheel bearings for play?
Have you checked the driveline u-joints?

.....the more info the better.

no lift, but I did put on bilstein shuck/struts a year or more ago.

It was aligned after that and when I got new tires (by the local dealer both times).

I got new rotors (brembos) recently and had them check and lube the u-joints.

The vibration didn't change through all of this.

I havn't checked tie rods recently, I can hope that is the culprit.

Has the truck always had a vibration or was this new?
Was there a point that this all of a sudden happened?
Was it right after you had work performed or did work to the truck?

I bought it used at 57K and I have always noticed some vibration at 60-70 mph, I mostly drive either under or over that speed so I neglected it. It differed from tire vibration I got if I went to non-dealer for balancing my tires.
I hoped that new tires would fix it but it didn't (they have been rotated once).

The truck is due for a 90k checkup and I will see if mechanic can figure it out.

EVERY tire I've ever had on my '90 4Runner and now on my '00 had vibration issues unless the adapter was used to balance the wheels. Toyota wheels are lug centered vs. hub centered. 99% of tire balancing is done via hub centering and with Toyota wheels you might get lucky and get a decent balance. The best luck I've had has been, unfortunately, at the dealership. I've also had good luck at my Firestone dealer AFTER I insisted he use the adapter. They don't like to use the adapter because they have to lug mount it to the wheel whcih is time consuming (takes them 2-3 times longer to do the work).

FYI, when you have your tires balanced without the adapter, ask them to put the tires back on the machine AFTER they removed them and see if they still show a good balance. If they didn't use the adapter, I'll put money on at least 2 out of 4 tires being unreasonably out.

Have you checked the driveshaft for balance? It is a common problem. My 2wd did the same thing until I had it rebalanced.

I had a simular problem at 60-70mph...could be the steering rack bushings.....try this(u need 2 people)...jack up your truck and have someone grab 1 wheel and turn it in and out of the wheel well just slightly...while you stand underneath and watch your bushings on the steering rack...if there is play...that could be your problems.

polurethane bushings will fix it.

I can try balancing again, but this has happened with two sets of tires, both balances at the dealer (I did get the normal tire vibration when I went to discount tires).
This seems like a faster than wheel rpm vibration, the drive shaft could be the issue, but then shouldn't I still feel it in the shifter when I hit the clutch?
I will try to check the steering rack bushings and tie rods
