I have a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 with Wheeler's 15x8 wheels and 32" BFG KM2s. A few months ago when my 31" Toyo ATs wore out, I bought the old style 32" BFG MTs from Discount Tire. As soon as I had those tires installed, I noticed a vibration between 55 and 65mph. After about 70mph the vibration would get a lot faster and less noticeable. I took the truck back to Discount to have the tires rebalanced 5-6 times over the summer! At one point, they replaced one of the tires because they said it was out of round....It didn't make a difference. I had them use the lug adapter on the balance machine, which did make a big difference, but the vibration was still there. I lived with it until it was time to rotate the tires. Last week I had them rotate and re-balance the tires and the vibration got worse. So they ordered me the new KM2's and installed them a few days ago. The vibration is worse with the new tires. It now starts at about 45mph. I can feel the vibration in my seat and in the steering wheel and its pretty bad. I replaced the U joints and carrier bearing in the rear driveshaft two days ago and I replaced the steering rack bushings yesterday. The vibration is still there! Do you think that my wheels might be bad? The sidewalls on both of the MTs are stiffer than the old Toyos and might be transmitting more of the vibration that I couldn't feel with the Toyos? Sorry for the long post, but I'm getting desperate...My daily commute is 90 miles roundtrip. Anybody ever have any problems with Wheelers wheels?

Well, I obviously don't expect the whole truck to vibrate on the freeway.

What tire pressure are you running. That can make a big difference with stiff sidewall tires. Tacomas dont weigh much in the back and the tires will get a little hoppy if they are to firm. try like 25-30 psi in the rear and 30 - 35 in front..

Right now I am running 35psi in the front and rear. I have tried the trucks recommended pressure (I think 26 front/ 29 rear). And I have also tried 40 in the front and rear.
I am unable to feel any play in the front end components, other than the rack bushings which I already solved.
I am going in tomorrow to have the wheels road force balanced. Hopefully that will fix it. I will update tomorrow. Keep the suggestions coming please.

Ok, on the way home last night I pulled over and dropped the front tires to 27psi and the rears to 30psi. It made a noticable difference in the vibration, but it was still there.
I got the wheels and tires roadforce balanced today and it made a big difference. I can still feel a slight vibration between 55 and 65mph. Discount Tires put in 28psi all around.
I am going to drop the rears to 26psi and see how it feels on the way to work. What is everyone running for air pressure in their Tacomas with mud tires?

I am running Cooper Discoverer 285/75/16 with 29 front and 27 rear. I was having the rear vibration too and this solved my shakes..

I had the same thing after I put on 265/75 nitto's on stock rims. The place I got them from re-balanced them about 3 times, using different weights each time with no change. I went to a shop with the road force, and the problem is now gone. To add, I run 35psi.
However like mentioned balljoints can be an issue and usually it takes a bit to feel the play with a tire test.

funny... i also have 265 70 17 nitto tires, how thick are your sidewalls(not sure if this matters) mine is 4ply
