Welcome newbie.....

I have ventvisors on my 4R, and have had them on other vehicles too and have never had to take off a mirror. You may want to check to make sure you have the right part number.

hey, i'm not trying to sound like a smartass, but maybe you have them backwards? like perhaps you're trying to put the vent visors from the left side on the right side, that may make them seem like they're not fitting. i guess it may just be worth letting the obvious out.

let us know how it goes

There are tight fit and regular fit type visors as ive seen. I have the type that fit over the mirror on my 91. If they seem to long then just simply pull the access cover on the inside of the door for the mirror. back the three screws off just enough to fit the visor behind the mirror assy.. You will be able to tell if they work or not. Its easy. Have fun, take pics for us.

The cover the tweets are mounted into should come off. Below that should be the three mounting screws for the mirror assembly.

Be careful being on my 91 it is only a simple cover. On yours it may have fragile clips. Just be careful. You should be able to place the visor on the door starting at the rear to get an idea of if it would lay flat and look correct without removing your mirror.

yeah, you should only need to back them off to the end of the thread but shouldn't have to take them all the way off. Slide your visor in and see if it fits. If so then its on you to make sure its straight. I admit my pass. side was not perfectly straight.
