Valve cover gasket replacement problem

O.k....I'm changing my valve cover gasket....and with it came a smaller gasket....flat and looks to be paper or cork or something....I can see where it goes in the inside of the valve cover....but I can't see how I can get to it....it looks to be rivited or something....HELP!!!! lol

You got a 22re in that rig right?
On my 22r the gasket fits into the groove on the valve cover, I've never seen a cork/ rivieted gasket anywhere on the VC of my motor.
Hope you figured something out

well....there is a metal plate on the inside of the VC.....to my best guess it acts like a filter of some sorts.....it actually covers the hole where you pour your oil in.....I don't know...on that plate there is another hole where the oil comes out from where you pour it in.....Does that make sense? lol...:pat: ....anyway....I couldn't figure it out...So I just didn't replace it....lol....Thanks anyway..
