V8 4 Runner swap

Has anyone tried to put a 5.2 Magnum in a 1992 4 Runner? Will it actually fit with no body lift?

I'd love to see someone drop in the I-Force into a 2nd gen, or better yet a 3rd gen!

Isn't the magnum a 360? either way i'm sure it could be done, just more expensive than a chevy or ford swap (more custom pieces that would have to be made)

I think I've read that the i-force motor is too wide to fit either the 2nd OR 3rd Gen. The hot swap would be the 4.0 out of the LS400.

Why would you pollute a perfectly good Toyota with a hunk of ˟˟˟˟˟ motor? At least swap in an I-Force or something more reputable such as a Ford 302 or a small block Chevy (LS1)...

I tried to race a porshe in my 2nd gen the other day... We were both at a light and when it turned green I gunned it (or I tried) but i beat him to the next light. (probly cause he didnt realize I was racing) But then the next light, he let me go a couple of feet or so then he was gone... i felt like a dip˟˟˟˟.

The LS uses the A340E trans, makes life much easier.

I would put a 302 in there, IF I wanted to work on it every day. Besides that, I'll use what I already have.

The engine should physically fit in there, although a bit of body lift might make life easier. I'd be curious to hear if the shaft for the trans is right, because I *think* the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same. If not, the bellhousing from a jeep or the donor Dodge might work.

The rear end can handle the power just fine. The front is questionable though, if you thrash it a lot you might break something up front.

I saw a 318 in a 1st gen toyota 5 years ago in at the Back Hills Cruiser Classic. Fit pretty well... sort of.

Does the Magnum have a rear-mount distributor? Is a small-body available for it? If so, you might be able to get by w/o a body lift, but you'd have to mount the engine low and try to push it back as far as you can for radiator clearance.

As for the i-Force - rumors are that there are two 4.7-into-Taco's floating around... Trying to convince the guy who mentioned it to drive 300 miles to get pics.
