upgrading to leather seats

My 98 sr5 has cloth seats and door panels, my next mod is upgrading to leather seats and door panels (if I can find a good deal) my question is will I have any foreseen problems with either and also i'm assuming power seats would work ok (I have non-power seats now)

yeah, your butt will sweat like crazy in the summer. i hate leather and vinyl seats without perforation for ventilation.

I hear ya, but I use my car to drive clients around (main reason i don't have a lift) so the leather would look better.

I replaced my stock cloth with perforated leather. I got a replacement kit from an aftermarket place as a clearence Item(Orig.$599), I paid $399.00 I dont see them on ebay anymore, maybe they went out of business
www.katzkin.com probably is your best bet now. Mine came with everything, including doorpanel inserts. They fit like a glove, looks completly factory. Took about 2 days to install myself. I have some pics on my webshot link below if you wanna take a look. they look kinda wrinkled because the pic was taken when i just finished installing but wrinkles evened out in about a month this was probably the only thing that actually added significant resale value to my truck

I was under the impression that everything (motor etc) was in the seats themselves.

I have a 2001 SR5 4Runner that i bought with cloth seats and upgraded to leather. I have enjoyed the upgrade but like many have posted, they get VERY hot in the summer and VERY cold in the winter. you just have to decide if it is worth is. And there is a wiring harness but if your truck is like mine you will have to run an extra wire. not hard to do at all. good luck feel free to PM me with questions
