Update on speedometer woes.

About three weeks ago my speedo and odometer quit when the check engine light came on. I took it to a shop and they said it was the speed sensor on the tranny. They changed it, no luck. They said to take it to the dealership. It went there and they said it was the speed sensor. I told them it had just been changed but they ordered a new one anyway. Guess what, it still did not work. After further troubleshooting the said that the speedometer was bad. So they ordered a new one. After waiting a week for one, it came in and viola, it now works. I finally got my baby back and now I only have 14 miles, thats right 14 miles on my 92 4runner The bad news, it cost me $390.

you cant reset the mileage on a guage.. unless you actually connect it to a drill and manually set it to what it was..... on some newer vehicles, the guage can be electrnically reprogrammed, but this is for newer digital odometers and not all cars have that option
