universal synthetic transmission fluid. Any Good?

Got a price to do a transmission fluid change and the shop uses a synthetic that they swear by. It has a long list of fluids that it can replace including all of the dexrons 1-6. Just wondering if its any good or if I should stick to the dexron 2 or 3. not sure if I can post this link but its made by service pro and is a full synthetic. Thanks Jesse http://www.service-pro.com/documents...VehicleATF.pdf

x2, you're good to go.

Interestingly enough, I found another universal ATF/PSF like that one recently. While searching for the ever elusive Toyota PSF Type EH(P/N 008886-01). Which I eventually found(proving it really does exist). But that's not exactly relevant...at the moment. However, the quote I've taken from this TDS is...

EDIT: Yeah...nevermind. I had something else to say. But I changed my mind. It was off topic anyway.

The 4runner transmission holds a lot of ATF and a full synthetic changeover will be expensive.

I've got 331,000 miles on regular over the counter ATF and she's still going strong.

Don't waste the money............just my opinion.

That's kind of a relative statement, don't you think? A lot compared to what?

A340E:
Dry fill 7.2 liters (7.6 US qts, 6.3 Imp.qts)
Drain and refill 1.6 liters (1.7 US qts, 1.4 Imp.qts)

A340F:
Dry fill 10.2 liters (10.8 US qts, 9.0 Imp.qts)
Drain and refill 2.0 liters (2.1 US qts, 1.8 Imp.qts)

ATF D-II or DEXRONŽ III (DEXRONŽ II)

I agree. Considering that full synthetic ATF is generally almost 2 to 3 times the price of good ol' DEXRON III(or equivalent). ~$3.50/quart vs. ~$6-$10/quart. And if you're talking between 8 and 11 quarts to dry fill a tranny(or more to flush it), it adds up...QUICK!

If I was rich, I'd use synthetic. But since I ain't, I just make sure that any automatic transmission I own gets flushed + a new filter + refilled with the cheap stuff every 30k miles. Which is usually more than adequate preventative maintenance wise.
