unichip and exhaust questions
I recently went to a local truck shop I wanted to get some things for my toyota. I was told I wanted the unichip and jba exhaust and headers. Im waiting for the stuff to arive and I talked to another shop. they said that the unichip sucks for the toyota and to send it back .They also said the headers are a waste of money. Does anyone have any info that could help me ? Im not shure if I should send it back or what would be my best bet to fix up my truck some. Its a v6 what else would you like to know? toyota tacoma extra cab. Also I have a 3 in lift and rims and bigger tires

I havent heard much about chips for yotas. But from what I have read and what a lot of people say, headers are a good thing to do. Just not sure about that brand of headers

I would do the Exhaust, and put an Intake with a throtle body spacer!!
I haven't heard any good feedback about "chip'n" a Toyota V6!!
Edit:: If its an 04 then it has a good powerplant!! Go with a nice sounding Exhaust!!
If you are planning on use'n your Truck Off-road put some trail gear on it..(EX. Rock Sliders, HD Skids)

headers back would be good to do. I went the cheap route and just replaced the muffler with a flowmaster 50 series. Sounds great. My next step is to get some trd headers. although i hear edlbrock has some headers too for yotas and they are cheaper with the same gains.

Hey Stevo, the Edlbrock headers are discontinued!! I looked into them when buying my Headers!! Only Downey makes headers for 3.4L and they don't work with a Body Lift!! (if that something in your future) And the Cross over pipe Crosses under your Tranny!!
The TRD's are awesome Headers! they are made by Thorley! All Stainless Steel construction.. And they do give a hell of alot of better Throtle response!!

Yes they will!! Because the TRD headers are made to fit in the Stock location!! They Fit close to the engine!! And the Cross-over crosses over the Tranny like the stock exhaust!!
I considered all these options well spending the cash on these!!
TRD Headers
~ Closer to Stock
~ Stainless Steel
~ Made by Thorley
~ Allows Body Lift
~ TRD only allows the best to be stamped TRD!!

headers are to much of a pita to install and the gains are not worth it unless ur going s/c and throttle body spacers are junk and the chips dont help much.... i would do the deckplate mod and the isr mod i did both and i can post up a pic of the isr mod if needed and also a 18'' magnaflow muffler will help i also have a video if you want to hear what it sounds like
