Hey Folks,

If I install a Roger Brown 2" bodylift will that give me enough clearance to run 285/75/16's. I will probably get BFG all terrain TA's. They will be mounted on stock 7 x 16 Toyota alloys. Can I expect any rubbing with that set up?

If I go with the lift, what is the best material to use as a gap guard on the frame, and to keep the grime off the engine?

From what I gather the 285s are going to put a major strain on your deisel engine - you'll feel it when you try to take off from a standing start unless your engine really pushes the BHP. My non-intercoolered 1KZ-T pushes 123 bhp how about yours?

I'm not 100% sure what bhp it has, I've gotten some conflicting reports. Some say around 130hp others say about 145hp. I reckon the intercooler should give me plenty of grunt. Is that bhp figure you have from a stock 1KZ-T?

One thing I can tell you is this this fly's from the lights etc. I find it more that adquate and a lot faster than the 2.4td 2nd gen I used to own.

You should also verify your 16x7 rims will hold the larger tires.

I am looking into putting 285/75 R16 as well but the tires require at least a 16x8 rim to hold them.

Lots of folks have run 285/75/16s on the stock 16X7 rims successfully. I don't know if your lift will clear them or not, but the 285s should work with your wheels. The narrow rim will actually hold the tire on a little better (more "pinch") when you air-down. Tire shop owners may tell you otherwise, though...

That's good to know. I was looking into getting the Revo tires for my car but had to put it only hold and save more money cuz I thought I also had to get new wider rims.
