which type of shocks?

I want to replace the old stock shocks on my 1992 4runner. Not really looking for the best seeing as how I am on a budget but something cheap and reliable that will be mainly used for pavement with occasional off roading. My local auto store has Monroe shocks and rancho rs5000, I want to get the rancho ones but I would save around 50 if i get the Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks. Is there a major noticable difference between the two and are the Monroe shocks worth it? -Thank you

Cool

My uncle has some Ranchos on his truck and I think those things are second only to bilistiens. He has the ones that you can adjust to suit your riding tastes.

As far as monroe I really can't say too much one way or the other about them.

Just my $0.02,

Outkast`

SKYJACKER.... Awesome on road. AMAZING Offroad. Lifetime warranty, Work at stock height or 3" Lift. Un-beatable Price.

Based on your criteria I would say you should get the Monroe. You would save money and get a better ride. The Rancho are more suited for off road driving- do you know if they are the RS5000 or a different series Rancho shock?

I know nothing about rancho and bilstein, other than that they seem over priced, but I can tell you that the sensa trac shocks and struts give you a great on-road ride.

i think rancho more or less lives off their old reputation these days. RS5000s are stiff as hell, if i was going to get a cheapo stiff shock i'd just settle for some procomps or something

imho, bilsteins are the best all around shocks out there
