Turned the BIG 3-0 (and some MUD pics)

Well, Sat was my 30th B-day. So my wife and I could act like a couple of kids again, her parents met us about an hour-and-a-half away and picked up our son. We had the whole weekend to ourselves, so we headed over to Tuscaloosa for the University of Alabama homecoming game. Tickets were way too pricey from the scalpers, so we got a table at a restaurant on the strip just down from the stadium to watch the game and downed some beer and some good food while we watched the Tide win another one.

We headed home, rested up a little, then headed out to a freind's property about 30 miles away. We built a HUGE bon-fire and the guys talked ˟˟˟˟ until this guy John w/ an old Ford wanted to talk smack about the runner. Well, needless to say, I showed him what it could do...

We went down to this muddy spot in one of the fields w/ a little ditch. I eased in w/ the Ford watching. I pretty much immediately sank 6-8 inches and got stuck. Then I eased it into 4HI and nailed the skinny pedal... I slung mud all over his dumb arse (that's what he gets for being directly behind me). I rocked it back and forth aobut 5 or 6 times, making him a good hole to have to follow me through. I almost got stuck, then hit that magical ARB switch to the left of the steering wheel (air locker) and eased right out. The guy in the Ford decided to take a different line and just gunned it and made it through the first time, then on his second try, he took my original line, and just SANK. I hooked up to him and winched him out, then took the same line and just breezed right through, then turned around and came back, then turned around and went through again, stopping and rocking back and forth until I MADE the runner get stuck. The runner was buried UP TO THE SLIDERS before it quit moving! I strung the line out and hooked up to a tree and pull right out. He tried one more time and buried again. I played around a little more in the mud, then we headed to the house. Needless to say, I spent about 2 hours Sun getting all this damned mud off the runner. I got about 60-70# out from UNDER it!

I guess you could say I had a little fun...

Oh yeah, I'm sure they do... I haven't used the sprinkler yet... so far it's been 15 min w/ the power washer on the outside and about 1.5 hours under it getting the suspension, wheel wells, and everything underneath rinsed off somewhat. I'll hit it w/ the sprinkler this evening.

Happy b-day. Gotta love playing in the mud. The cleanup never really matters it's how it got dirty that counts

Happy Belated Andy! There is nothing worse than cleaning those chunks of mud off, I swear. And isn't it amazing how much they weigh? Glad you had fun. Enjoy picking the crap out of the undercarriage for the next year!

Dang old man, you only got me by a year! Yep, once you get past 30, you turn 40, you reach 50, you make 60, you hope for 70 and after that it's all gravy...

Happy Birthday dirt poser! I know you really got that mud down the road at the shopping mall they are building!

Happy Birthday, son. In Oregon, you'd need an environmental impact statement on file before cleaning up. Glad you had fun!

Talking !!

happy late b day! I just turned the big 20 and took my Runner on a almost 2,500 mile trip so far! She's doing beautifully! I drove form Denver, CO to Langley, British Columbia (just above washington) on a straight 23 1/2 hour road trip. i flew solo and only stopped long enough for gas and to pee. I did stop on Oregan for a burger, but other wise she drove for 23 1/2 hours straight, no problems. I'm leaving to head back to Denver in 2 days another 1,500 miles home, my belts are a lil loose but ill fix it before i go. Here's to the never ending performance of the Toyota. I'd like to add 1 to the ol' saying. There are now 3 things of which you can always depend on: 1. Death 2.Taxes *3. Your Toyota. Representin' Erik :bounce2:

P.S. Your Truck rocks, i used to drive a ford... way to show 'em how its done.
