I just happened to stumble across this article about using Tundra coils for a Tacoma lift on the TTORA website. Other a very stiff ride, it sounds like a good setup to me. What do you guys think?

Wonder if he used the 2wd or 4wd coils, there is a difference.

That is a good question. I tried emailing the guy but my message was returned, so I dont know that I will be able to find out for sure. What is the difference between the 2wd & 4wd coils?

You know, it seems to me that there are many tried and true coils for Tacomas and 4Runners that would probably cost less and that are a known commodity. Not that I'm against trying new things, but from reading that page, I would say it sounds like a very bad idea! He mentioned his lack of down travel etc. Imagine the stress on other components. Sounds scary to me.

But that's just my opinion. Not worth much, but there it is. <smile>

I have some Ivan Stewart TRD coils and HD Bilsteins on the front of my 99 4runner and it doesn't ride harsh at all...

Hmmm... In interesting. How would you rate the off-road performance?

Well common sense indicates because a 4wd has a transfer case, either the 4wd coils are longer or they are more progressive or stiffer. In fact what I have heard people do because of that nose down effect of the stock tundra, is in 2wd tundra's, they replace the front coil with a 2wd coil and it levels out the Tundra perfectly, although obviously does had for a slightly stiffer ride.
