I need to refresh my brakes this year and am interested in switching to Tundra calipers & rotors. I just spent some time browsing the various threads relating to this but am still confused regarding actual part numbers for the different calipers. From my reading, there are 199mm and 231mm brakes - does this refer to just the rotors, or are the caliper bodies different as well?

So, what are the actual numbers that should be cast into these calipers?

- 13WL R3 03k5 R3 03K5

I wouldn't recommend swapping over the tundra brakes. the stock spare rim wont fit over the tundra calipers... Learned the hard way when girls drive! Went with Powerstop drilled and slotted, plus they have a 36 month warranty! i have had them for about a year no issues what so ever. Not to mention that they work better then stock as well.

Not an issue - I've had a full-size matching alloy wheel for nearly 11 years.

I believe rotors are the same, the caliper bodies are different.
13WE = 199mm caliper
13WL = 231mm caliper

The 13WE are easier to install (no trimming) and they will clear the stock 16" rims and 16" spare rim.

The 13WL require some dust shield trimming, are a tight fit with the stock 16" rims, and will not work with the stock 16" spare rim.

I went the 13WE route, to make things easy on myself.

If you buy refurbished calipers, the finish is very cheap, mine we rustier after 6 months than my originals after 9 years. Get them painted before you put them on.

So I have a possible line on a very clean (rust-free) set of the 231mm calipers from an '06 Tundra (part numbers listed in my second post). I have no issue clearancing the dust shields, and have 5 factory alloys, so is there ANY reason why these would not work?

Second, if I purchase these, is there a specific Toyota part number for the correct set of factory pads?

Funny - I just finished reading that article and noting necessary part numbers!

If I hear back from the seller today, I'll go ahead and purchase a set of 231mm calipers from an '06 Tundra out of AZ.

I've been accumulating necessary parts for this swap. In addition to the calipers, I've also purchased the correct rotors/pads/shims from Toyota.

The calipers were in good shape, but I opted to bead blast them before finishing with a high-temp primer and high-temp finish coat. Once I pick up the new dust seals later today, the brakes will be ready to install.

I pulled the wheels recently and clearanced the dust shields in order to bolt the calipers on and check wheel clearance. No issue.

And failing that, worst case is you put the spare on the back, and put the back wheel on the front.
