TSB for my 02 Sport

Hi guys,
I just stopped by the local Toy dealer for a check up on my "Door weather strips". It keeps loosing out/dropping down some sort like that, if I stretch it and put it back it will likely stay there for a few days then the same things happen again.
So they checked it then told me that it is covered under the TSB. So they ordered it for me.

Hope I can share this.

Yeah, I'll ask the dealer for the TSB number when I bring my rig in for the replacement.

Thanks.

Same story here

Same problem with my 02. First it was the ft pass door, I took it in, was good for about 6 mos, and its crumby again - pulling from the top rear corner like the seal is too small.

Now 3 of the 4 doors are affected.

I'm wondering if it's worth taking it in or devising a fix on my own....

Sparman,

If its covered under a TSB, then let the dealer do the work for free.

2002 SportEdition,

Does this effect only 2002's or are there other years covered?

I'll ask the mechanic when I bring my rig in for service. They have to order the parts, so maybe I'll get it done next week.

Anyone else out there know what TSB # this is or if it covers models other than '02. My '01 driver door has this same problem....

Hey Guys,

I immediately noticed the same problem with my '02 Sport shortly after bringing it home. The front passenger side door and rear drivers side door weather stripping was drooping a falling off. I took it to one dealership and they just applied more adhesive to the weather stripping. This worked for about a week and the problem recurred. I took the 4 Runner to another dealerships and I was informed that the weather stripping was too short and it was a factory defect. They had to order the replacements and they did replaced them under warranty. I was not told anything about a TSB though.

that sounds like a TSB since they are aware of the issue and are already fixing it without giving you any problems. the # would be good so we could all get some new weatherstripping

*** bump (round two) ***

Anyone have any more info on this TSB yet?? I contacted my dealer yesterday about my sagging door seals. They ordered 2 seals for the front doors, but said they needed to verify my rig fell under the TSB. I like to have details (TSB #, info) before the works starts just in case they try to give me the run around or try making me pick up the tab AFTER the works already done. They haven't provided me with any TSB info yet....

Are the rear doors covered as well??

I have the same problem on my rear driver's side door. My local dealer replaced weather stripping under warranty 2 times already. I have 2001 4Runner SR5 by the way...

I just dropped off my rig this morning for the service, I asked the service attendant about the TSB number but he didn't know. I asked if the technician knows, he said maybe. He told me that they will write the TSB number on it when they are done servicing. I sure will ask for the TSB number for you guys. I'll pick it up today after work.

**They said that they will replace all 4 doors.
