trueflow fitment question
I just got my trueflow from northridge toyota (awesome price, wicked fast shipping), and dropped it in the truck.
has anybody else found that these things dont fit the best? I almost felt like I was forcing it in, and the lid will not latch. I've checked the trueflow website and the part number I recieved is the one my vehicle calls for.
I know some people are driving around with the lid open anyway, but I noticed the lid is part of what holds the filter up tight against the intake track, allowing only filtered air into the motor. the filter frame feels like it fits into the airbox correctly, but without the spring thingy in the lid pushing it back, I feel as if it may move forward and let dirt through.
should I quit complaining, or is there a known spot to grind the filter for a better fit? or any other tweaks to make it seal better and allow the lid to close?
thanks in advance for any info.
forgot to add.... 00 4runner sport, 5speed, v6

The link explains it all....... even with this minor problem, I feel this is the best filter on the market for our rigs currently....

I blew out my AFM with my old K&N and switched over to the TrueFlow. Couldn't be happier, no fitment issues and that damn CEL stopped coming on finally. X2 on NTP. Killer service.
