Trimming rear SR5 flares

I have already ripped off my two front mudflaps and have damaged the rears while wheeling. I was wondering if anyone has some pictures of where they have trimmed the front part of the rear SR5 flares where they hang down below the rockers. I want to get them out of the way so I don't end up tearing the whole flare off. Thanks

Well, the whole time I kept thinking I was rubbing the fenders in the back, it turned out to be my frigging mudflaps... I havent cut them yet. If I didnt live in california, Id take them off.

Oh, you have the thicker, black SR5 flares...I have the "trim" I guess.

Here's a pic of mine when I trimmed the front of the rear flare. I did this b/c I didn't like the way it looked w/o the running boards. As far as what I did, I took off the flare, marked where I wanted to cut the flare, cut it w/ a heavy duty scissor, and then filed it down w/ sandpaper. Here it is:

Here it is w/ sliders (not so close up):

Thanks. Yeah I don't even have the rear mudflaps on anymore. One to many run-ins with some of the stumps in our lowcountry swamp. I need to get the front out of the way. I think I am going to give my 58" sliders to my little brother and make some longer ones that will fit better, but I need to trim the flares to make room.
