Tried search- need shock length/travel advice
Hey all,
I have a 97 4runner 4WD w/ 2.5" lift front and rear. I'm ready to order new shocks for all four corners and did not know if I can order stock lengths or if I should order something different than the various online retailers recommend for my truck w/o any lift?
Thanks for any help.

Depends on what kind of flexing you will do.
Tons of offroad......get the longer travel type (OME, Bils, etc).
Mostly on road......stock length is fine

I have a spreadsheet that lists different brands of shocks, model #'s, Ext. length, Comp. Length, and travel. Email me if you want it. and I will email it to you.

Thanks for the help. I'm about 95% onroad and occasionally off-road, but not super hardcore or anything! I sent you a PM asking for the spreadsheet. Thanks for the help.
Now I'm trying to decide about what shocks to order. Bilsteins seem popular on this, but I'm considering KYB or something maybe a step down due to price.
Any advice is greatly appreciated of course.
Thanks!

Got the spreadsheet and thanks! Lots of good info. Anybody on here used Pro-Comp or KYB shocks? Not sure I want to go all the way "up" to Bilsteins in stiffness or $$.
But, got to get something better than stock ones!
Thanks!
