TRD headers/exhaust questions...
I'm currently going through the process of buying a V6 Tacoma Xtra cab/TRD. I've done all the research on invoice prices and I know what I'm going to ask for when I sit down and talk turkey.
My question is this: Does anyone know what the dealer cost is for TRD headers? The reason I want to know is if 2 or 3 dealers are giving me the price I want, I plan on asking them to throw in the headers at a good price and they will have a deal. I'm not planning on rolling them into the price of the vehicle, I plan on just paying for them cash.
So if 3 dealers want to sell me the truck at $22,500, what would be a reasonable price for the headers installed? I'm thinking $700-$800.
Another question:
I'm also going to get an exhaust and I've narrowed it down to TRD or Borla. I know all about Borla... I've had their exhausts before. I also know that Borla used to make TRD. Who makes TRD now? Is it a straight through design? They are pretty pricey, are they worth it? I've never seen one up close, does anyone have any pictures of one, specifically the tip? I found a Borla system for $454, I doubt I'll find a TRD that cheap.

$648 and change is dealer cost on the headers. borla still makes the trd exhaust AFAIK. i got mine (stamped trd) from borla for $350 when they sold some blems. it had a ding on the muffler on the side that faces my bed. might be worth a shot, but $454 is a good price too if not.

Is the tip of the TRD exhaust round? I've seen some sites that say it's oval. Got any pics of your exhaust?

I'm not sure about quality but PP has headers for around $300 and the crossover pipe for $125 and SS mandrel bent exhaust for $350. I do like the sound of the Borlas that I've heard on the 4Runners so I'm still in the deciding phase myself.

if you havent seen gadget's site yet you need to check it out. he did a great job covering the exhaust and headers.

The most I'll do to my Taco is add an exhaust and do the deckplate mod. I might add headers if I can get a great deal, but right now I see no point if I'm not boosting it. I'm also going to get a spray on bedliner and mybe some stereo mods/upgrades and decent seat covers.
