I just wanted to report that the exhaust tip on the 'new' TRD cat back system is STAINLESS STEEL. Not only did I let all the crud, salt and grime over two months build up on it, but I also put a magnet on it and the tip looks as good as new a-n-d the magnet does not stick.

For my taste and with my setup (Supercharger and no fuel, timing mods) I don't like the sound; it's got too much drone for my taste. I also suffer from a hearing loss caused by many years of abuse, so I am very sensitive to certain low pitch tones. Some people who have ridden in my car don't mind it. My wife also says it is too loud and gives her a headache. I would be willing to bet that on a properly tuned engine or a NA engine, the system would sound fine.

I paid about $520 for it deliivered and if my recollection is correct, it retails for about $650. The system has a small resonator box midway in the tailpipe.

There has been a running contradiction on whether the tailpipe is stainless or chrome plated zinc. Even the dealers contradicted themselves. Apparently, TRD started making them with chrome tips and have now changed to stainless. I would still be careful when ordering and I would still specify that you ONLY want stainless.
