TRD Boost gauge install
I have just installed the TRD boost gauge on a '99 runner. I am down to the point of connecting the gauge tubing to the engine vac. line. The instructions read "Find the hose that connects the fuel regulator to the boost port on the back of the S/C......" On my particular setup, (assuming that I am looking at this right) the vac hose that comes off of the fuel reg connects to the intake tube of a K/N aftermarket setup. Is this the right hose, seems like splicing into this hose would always produce a vacuum reading on the gauge. The only hose that comes out of the back of the S/C connects what I believe to be a blow off valve? (valve on the driver side-back of the S/C that has a plunger type device in the middle). Any help or suggestions?

well according to the picture on the supplemental instructions, the picture shows that fuel press reg is connected to the port on the top of the S/C. In my case the fuel press reg is connected to the intake tube of the K/N filter setup. Is this wrong? Should it be hooked up the way the picture shows? Or should i just splice into the existing setup for the boost gauge to work properly?

this is great , i was just looking for answers on this and coudnt finf them anywhere. this morning i installed my new boost guage ( as instructed in manual of gauge manufacturer) to the vacuum line s/c. and im only reading vacuum which adjusts accordingly to boost but nevers actually reads boost. my s/c install did not use the port o the rear of the unit. but i think this is the only port that delivers boost readings( please advise if anyone has answers)

NOTE: The fuel pressure reference line is spliced
into for the Boost Gauge Kit (not supplied).

If you haven't done it yet do the free FMU mod and then splice that line for your boost gauge. That boost port is the only place to get your boost pressure.

It is all starting to make more sense. However, my first attempt at connecting the boost gauge line i tapped straight into the boost port where the FPR should be connected to. The gauge read nothing, the needle on the gauge never moved from zero at idle or at boost. I'm very certain that I tapped the right port as choices are limited. Maybe this means that I pinched the line somewhere along the way?
