Haven't installed mine yet but if you search, I'm sure there's someone that's posted "how to" on the install. I don't tow but from what I've read, it's a nice insurance policy for your tranny. The thing costs about $50 and if you're good at wrenching, it shouldn't be a big deal.

My buddy has a Honda Passport and his tranny went out at 180K mileage. When he had the tranny rebuilt, the tranny shop recommended adding a tranny cooler to keep his rebuilt tranny lasting longer. That was enough to convince me to do the same.

Even better, here's a pic from a few posts lower on a install:

No and yes.

The install is super simple, consisting of mounting the cooler, then tapping into a rubber line. 30 minutes tops.

Keeping the slushbox cool is a great way to prolong it's life. Whether you are towing or not, city driving, stop and go on the freeway and short trips around town can heat it up nicely. A good sized cooler is the solution.

Not the TRD unless you really like paying too much for things...

There are several models that people have used that work well in our applications. Do some searching.

Go with the Hayden 1678, its the equivalent to the TRD one minus the hefty price tag.

Install is pretty darn simple, popping the grill and trying not to break the clips is the hardest part.

From a Taco, should be similar though... Let me know how it works out as I will be using these directions when I do mine as well.

Here's a pic of where I mounted mine:http://community.webshots.com/photo/...71697809PxiQaV

Most people mount them in front of the radiator but I was having a hard time finding enough space there.
