Transfer case fill plug part #?

Hey all,

I searched and didn't see this so sorry if it is on here somewhere. I need the part number for the transfer case fill plug and gasket (?) if anyone can help out.

It is for a 1997 4Runner V6 w/ auto trans. I took it in for an oil change and the dude said the plug is just gone (prob. previous oil change they did not replace it).

So I need to flush the transfer case and refill it, but need to order the plug assembly first so I have it.

Go to YotaYard on Walnut St. near downtown and yank the plugs out of a case there. I just dropped my old T-case off there a couple of weeks ago with both plugs in it. I say that just to say that I know they have T-cases laying around there, and I'm sure you could find one there for less than you'll pay a dealer parts center for them.

Here are the part numbers for the fill plug and gasket for the transfer case in case anyone else ever needs them:

fill plug 90341-18006 ~$3.00
gasket 90430-18008 ~$1.00

Wait, so you've been driving around with no transfer case fill plug (i.e. an open hole?!?)
Hopefully you didn't go up any really steep hills... you could've lost quite a bit of your fluid, and be driving around with a really low level in the transfer. Good thing the oil change guy caught it when he did... hopefully no damage was done.

i think he meant the bolt is being rounded off. The bolt can get rounded pretty easily if not open properly. I like to use impact for to untighten at axially position, prevent from rounding.

Get a allen socket head magnetic drain plug...work much better and less chance to strip them out. On my website.

In regards to being clear, I was. My plug is gone as in not present! I topped up the transfer case fluid and got another plug to put in already. Need to flush it out and refill still though.

Crap! I was right. (That's worse for you than if I was wrong.) How much gear oil did you have to add when you topped it up? (PS. I apologize for assuming that you weren't clear.)
