Traded My Runna yesterday
Well guys....I hope I did the right thing.....I said goodbye to ol'girl yesterday and found a new love.....an 85 4Runner.....Was looking through my local buy, trade swap it guide and came across this ad for a 1985 SR5 4Runner for sale for $1,700 obo....So I thought...hhhmmm...I wonder....and so I called.....This chick answers and we get to talking and I told her that I was thinking about selling mine and if she would like to meet up sometime to check out each others trucks......So we did.....and we ended up trading trucks on the spot....lol....I wanted to start over anyway and especially with an 85...one less mod I'd have to do.....I mean...She aint pretty.....but she's not that bad either....the chick wasn't too bad either... ....but the 85's got 174k on it...EFI, sfa....power windows, altimeter, center console rear heater vent for the rear passengers.....looks really nice interior wise....not a bad rig I think.....Give me some time to start over from the ground up....I think she'll do just fine......now....where did I put that all pro offroad catalog....hhhmmm.....

I thought i was gonna have to stay here at work all day till you posted the pictures.
Now my day is complete
Looks nice so far. She looks like she is in good shape.
Do me a favor. While on the freeway, let me know if your driver side mirror shakes.
Mine shakes real bad and i cant get it to tighten up .

Dang I can only hope I can find an 85 for $1700!! That's awesome man them things are rare. I been looking for one lately. I want something I can go out do pinstriping on an put dents in and not have a heartattack. Wheeling is just so much funner when you don't have to worry about damage. Looking forward to the buildup on her.

Trucks
O.k....So....I found some more body damage....like a huge a$$ hole on the drivers side floor board right below the pedals.....managed to unstick the rear window motor with some WD-40 and some elbow grease....now I have to find out why the switch won't reverse the poloarity on the motor to make it go down......There's also some fresh oil leaking from somewhere on the left front of the block....and I'm thinking ( but hoping it's not) the timing chain cover gasket.....but it's only on the left side.....not anywhere else.....anyway......So...I traded my
88 4Runner 3" body lift,4" suspension lift, 33" Super Swampers, fair amount of frame work and exhaust work needed for......
an 85 SR5 4Runner...nice interior, motor runs like a top, 174k on it, fair amount of body work, frame is in really good condition, bone stock...both trucks 4 cyl....can't complain on gas....I think I'll be real happy with this one once I start replacing stuff and making mods.....but here is my delema.....what do I go with for lift mods now that I have a sfa? I mean do I go with a "kit" again? The only one that I've been able to find though is Skyjacker and ProComp....and of course rear replacement springs and front and rear shackles....but....I also went to All Pro Offroad and their extreme lift kit for 79'-85' trucks and 4runners look pretty sweet.....Don't know...I guess I'll make the decision when the time comes.....I think the reason why I didn't do alot of wheelin anymore in my 88 was because I was scared of the frame just breaking and that was my daily driver too......but so is this one....and I think that if I just take care of the major issues now....before I start adding....then it's only fun from here!!!!!
Thanks guys...
Bryce
