Toyota Fender Flares
Well I went to the dealership yesterday and found out there discontinued...I really don't want to buy Bushwacker's...i've heard nothing but "issues" with them...my friend had to re-drill each hole to get them to bolt on...and they say they fit right out of the box :S A tow truck driver that is contracted out from my corporation had the same issue on his Dodge Ram...he sent several emails and left messages and no one from Bushwacker returned his call's. So is there any place out there that woudl sell OEM toyota Fender flares?
thank

I had 3" Bushwacker cut-out flares....on my 91 4wd, with no issues. Except the fact that they came with black screw caps, since my truck was black, I wanted chrome caps to break up all the black. They sent me a set of chrome for free!!

That's basically the same as mine, but mine isn't limited. That's my cousins. Same color rims etc.....minus fender flares...I need flares to extend over my fender for the truck to be legal. When I do get the flares I would linex or powder coat them.

oem is not the way to go on this one if the mounting isn't already there. it's a real pain in the butt and after investing 250 into a used set i ended up scrapping the whole project. i would say bushwacker, sorry to hear about your friend but i've never heard a bad thing about them

Well...I have an SR5 model 4Runner so I got those chrome fender pieces that go on over the wheel well, where flare's would go I would presume? I thought that if I were to install flares I would un-screw those chrome pieces and install the flares?

sportztrailers seemed to be the best prices on Bushwackers that I could ever find. Around $353 is what I was quoted about a year back for Extend a Fender model to fit my 99.
There are a few options so the one you choose may depend on running boards and so on.
Also if you want to try to rhino line some then just consider Pacesetter products and you may be able to fab up your own fitment which the rest of us would love to copy....

I think Toyota flares have plugs and snaps along the top of the flare so you would have to cut square holes into the fender and quarter panel about 2-3 inches above the wheel well opening. I was going to do the same thing until I realized how much work was involved. Eventually I went with Bushwacker but they were definately not a direct fit. I think I spent about 1-2 hrs per flare trimming and fitting them. They were really poor quality but if you don't mind spending the time, they can turn out pretty good.

i got pulled over yesterday for my tires sticking out too far. and i have the factory textured flares. needless to say i was and still am pissed. he gave me 15 days to put flares on that cover far enough. i looked at the jungle flare web site and they look pretty good. but he only sells them for a taco. i have a 96 4runner and since the flares go on the rear doors. i was wondering if anybody has gotten these flares or ones for a taco and cut them in half for the door gap. i'm sure i can but would like to see what others may have done.
