ok, well this is the 4 cylinder, so I know it isnt gonna be too powerful, but I can afford it and it dosnt sound too bad. close to where I live, and I was thinking of getting it and then later when I get money rebuild a old chevy smal block, like a 283 or something, nothing too big, and then swap it in, then I already got the gear driven case. If Im correct the trans in the 4 cyl runners is the W56, right?
so then this is what Id need to mate the 283 to the stock trans.

I know Id then need to make some mounts, or someone probably has some premade somewhere.
but how stong is the stock tranny, will it take the torque of a V8 or will it take a dive soon after the swap?
and do people who do this swap usually try and rig the tach to the new engine and then all of the warning lights up to the new engine? or would the better idea be to just take out all the bulbs on tha dash behind the lights like oil warning, charge light, CEL, and just get a bunch of autometer guages and mount em on the pillar?
and can you rig the stock coolant temp sensor to work on the new block, or no?
thanks.

I would stay away from that thing. For one, the description lists it as a 1986, and that is definetly not a 86 Runner. It is a 2nd gen Runner (90-95). Also from those pics I wouldn't want that thing anyway. It's a dark photo taken at night of a 4Runner that has 4 flat tires. It's also listed as a 2 dorr and you can plainly see that it is a 4 door. That would throw up another red flag. Keep looking man you can find something a little more trustworthy than that, I promise. Whoever is selling this is either a complete moron or something fishy is going on.

Go look at it and drive it. Can't hurt.
Definitely the wrong description though.

HAHAHA!! Good look Cebby . I didn't realize that was even a curb.
Still sounds real iffy to me though.

That definatly is an 86 runner or something close. I don't know what picture u were looking at, but I saw a red 1st gen runner. I've got one myself and they're great.
I also did a conversion to a V8 in mine... very nice.

Yup, I see a 1st gen in that picture, and it doesn't look like it was taken at night... The title says 1990, but the description says 1986. Definitely go see it in person.

just looked again and the picture and description changed from when I last saw it. they probably sold the 90, changed the description, then jon and cebby looked at it and right after that he got done changing the picture or something. now they are selling there other runner. I always see one thing for sale, and its another like it ill say 1997 accord, then the car is a 89 golf or something cuz they already sold the accord and are too cheap to put a real ad in for the golf.
