torque specs. '85 22R
Hey folks,
New here, found you via toy trucks newsgroup. I have a few questions. I'm looking for the torque values for the following:
Details: 1985 22R carborated 4x4 pick-up
water pump to timing cover
oil pump to timing cover
timing cover
chain tensioner to block
chain guilds (dampers) to block
Oil pan
Oil return? in the pan with the screen (can't think of name, duh)
I think I have the rest in Hanyes manual
Also beside the oil pan does anyone use 'gunk' (silcone) anywhere at reassmebly
Felt it was time to do chain @ 297K
Nathan
P.S. anyone out there have the factory repair manual they want to part with:-)

I assume you've already disassembled everything so you know about the hidden bolts?
water pump to timing cover
no info in factory manual, assume same values for timing cover
oil pump to timing cover
top bolt - 18 ft-lb
side bolts - 14 ft-lb
bottom bolts - 9 ft-lb
relief valve plug - 27 ft-lb
timing cover
8mm bolts - 9 ft-lb
10mm bolts - 29 ft-lb
chain tensioner to block
no info in factory manual, I use same value as for cover.
chain guilds (dampers) to block
no info in factory manual, I use 9 ft-lb and threadlock.
Oil pan
9 ft-lb
Oil return? in the pan with the screen (can't think of name, duh)
Oil strainer/pickup? 9 ft-lb
Also beside the oil pan does anyone use 'gunk' (silcone) anywhere at reassmebly
At the point where the timing cover, block, and head meet on both sides. Also the half-moon rubber plugs on the valve cover, goop them up good.
