What do you guys think of those tornado spriral u put in your intake tube? Do any of you have this? Did you gain power or not? Thanks

generally the opinion has been no added value whatsoever. search the terms "tornado" and "toilet" and you'll get the same opinion.

I've seen a dyno test with a Tornado and in one test it gained 3hp and then on the 2nd pull it lost 1hp which differences that small are attributed to many variables in between pulls so really it does absolutely nothing. The Helix throttle body spacer does (or doesn't) the same thing. "Twisting" the air has no effect once in the combustion chamber on fuel injected engines.

The Tornado Fuel Saver stuff is worthless on fuel injected applications. Most vehicles already have some sort of air flow into the intake so adding this will either disrupt the flow or not have any effect. On GM vehciles if you own a Vortec engine then it's already doing the same thing, just further into the intake and thus more effective as far as fuel mileage and horsepower. I'm just tired of many people falling into the trap of buying junk when you are just making scam artists richer. Have you ever noticed some advertise up to 10 HP? WOW! 10 hp just by adding something this simple? Come one get real.

also 10hp is nopthing on a dyno run, pulling the car on or off the dyno can equate to this much loss or gain

I've heard that with a tornado purchase you get a lifetime supply of blinker fluid and a free spiral slicer.

Blinker Fluid!! That Changes everything!! "and if you call right now..." On a more serious note, most likely if you see it on TV, its not worth it (unless its on a specialty car program, or something like that)

If these tonado things are so great because they screw up the airflow why would anyone want to do the intake piping mod(the straight pipe from aircleaner to throtlebody)?

Yeah, but if you buy 2 tornado thingys, they will send you their patented camshaft rotational dampeners AND a free set of extra stiff piston return springs!!! You can still get the blinker fluid for 1.99 a gallon though, and lets not forget about the O-pipe exhuast. (This is for competing with the H and X pipes out there!! )

Be careful though... I know of folks that are running two in their intake for double the power increase, but if you install one backwards, they'll cancel each-other out and you'll be wonder "waaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzup????".

Usually to get rid of the silencers which kills torque. I am going to have to check but I think Toyota already has some type of design inside the head to help create a good airflow. Don't quote me on this but I think it's a great concept but to put it so early in the intake for the tubings to have enough time to straighten the airflow defeats the purpose alltogether.

If you put the tornado on your intake you must also change out your stock muffler bearings
