Your brake pads might be worn.

Is it upon braking? Acceleration? Turning? When you hit a certain speed?

DETAILS, MAN, DETAILS!

Check the dust sheild and make sure its not bent or something jammed in it, causing it to rub against the rotor.

When was the last time the front hubs were opened up and the bearings greased? This will not be visible unless you open it up and can cause a noise at all speeds. Regardless of accelation or deceleraton.

Since he posted in the 3rd gen section, he probably has sealed bearings in the front, which would get replaced when bad and not re-packed... not sure if all 3rd gens are that way though.

Good Posting, they are indeed sealed. All 3rd gens should be that way.

Providing us details about your truck may also help man!

My guess would be that the brake pads are worn. When were they changed or serviced last? If not recently or you just bought the truck, just change them out. Its a very simple and inexpensive job, and upon doing so apply some anti-squeal gel to the back of the brake pad. No more squeaks.

Also, like stated earlier, check the dust shield. Its possible you have a rock or something stuck in there. Again, though...my money is on the pads.

Good Luck

what might have happened is the mechanic who did the brakes last didnt machine the rotors and only replaced what needed to be replaced. last mechanic in san diego i took mine to for a brake job did that. didnt put any anti-squeal, didnt turn/machine the rotors because 'its a 4x4, and it is much harder to take the rotor off a 4x4, senor' and only replaced the driver front brakes and passenger rear brakes. and charged me full price. nothing i can do about it now, but something for you to check
