I need to replace my tires, and there is a hot sale for BGF 33 muds that if I don't take avanage of it now, I may loose the deal.

My question is, I'm running 285/75/16, and the tires I'm looking at are 33x12.5x16.5 how much wider (in inches) are the tires?

I'm worry that they wont fit, with the 285/75/16, I only have a 1.5" from the tire to the control arm.

11.2 inches currently (285 mm = 11.2 inches) and the new ones are 12.5 inches wide. do you have any lift? if not, theres a real good chance they'll rub

not to mention you have 16" rims and the BFGs say 16.5" rims (never heard of a 16.5" tire...)

EDIT: on second though you might be ok given that you already have 33s and youre only gaining about .7 inches on either side...

yes, I have a lift, my problem is the back spacing of my rims... I'm actually running a 1.5" wheel spacer to fit the 285s.

The 16.5 may be a error, I've never seen 16.5 neither

If it's only .7 inches, I may be ok.

they'll be fine. only about an inch wider = half inch wider on the inside + half inch wider on the outside give or take a bit


do they come with rims? you'll have to get some new ones if they dont which may or may not kill the deal...

16.5's do exist. they're not as common, which means tire selection is limited. you should be able to find a 16.5" rim for a chevy fit, just double check the bore diameter...as the chevies are a bit smaller. some grinding may be necessary, if youre comfortable with that.
