Timing belt replacment (position)
I just bought a remanufactured block for my 1990 4X4 3.0 L. I have managed to swap all of the parts over and got the timing set (after lots of work and $$ spent at the Toyota dealer). However, the timing belt looks like it is sitting back all the way against the crankshaft timingbelt pulley. Will the timing belt balance itself out? Or should I try and move it out away from the pulley?
I also replaced the oil pan and used a cork gasket instead of just using form-a-gasket. Was this the wrong thing to do? I used Napa copper gasket maker.
thanks
