timing belt parts list....anything else?
I sent TRDparts4u.com a request for parts to do a timing belt, water pump and themostat job on my 2000 4Runner. They sent back and said that I need the following:
13568-69095 BELT, TIM 33.12 1
16100-69398-83 WATER PUM 88.84 1
90916-03075 THERMOSTA 11.03 1
16325-62010 GASKET, W 3.36 1
90311-38051 SEAL, TYP 6.41 2
90311-40022 SEAL, TYP 4.63 1
00295-00103 FIPG OIL 8.98 1
I want to replace everything with new...don't want to re-use any gaskets, seals etc.....Are there any other parts, gaskets or seals that you guys might know about that aren't listed above? Also...is there anything else I should be replacing while I'm in there this far? I need the 4Runner back together the same day and don't want to find out that there is something else I need in the middle of the project!

Todd, sorry I can't really help since I haven't done my timing belt yet. But am interested in seeing what the replies are here, since its on my agenda here in the next month or so and I'm getting a parts list together.

dont know all the part numbers...but i replaced mine in my 3.0 and i got all the gaskets for the timing cover along with the idler and tensioner. not sure how a 3.4 is..but if it is anything similar then i'd replace the idler and tensioner just to be safe. and yeh...replace the drive belts too. they say replace the cam seals too but i never could get my cam sprockets off but they looked good for now.

I would definitely replace the timing belt tensioner. They are a gas type tensioner, (similar to the gas struts on the rear hatch) and can lose pressure over time.
It's a simple job, the factory timing belt has all the marks on it that have to be lined up correctly, Ie: left cam, right cam, crank.
The biggest problem I had, was I had to unbolt the A/C compressor to access one bolt for the tensioner, but even that isn't difficult. Good luck.

I just did mine on my 00 Tacoma, 3.4 liter. Set aside around 5 hours to get it all done. I didn't change the tensioner or idler, but you might want to order the special Blue Point tool that spreads the tensioner so you can get the belt on. I belive it's YA9370, around $60 shipped. It makes life a lot easier. Don't forget to put new "red" toyota cooland in it.

I had a lab break down the contents of "red" toyota coolant and it came back as follows:
50% ketchup
25% carbonated water
25% Kool Aid, Tropical Punch flavor
I guess you can probably make some at home for cheap. Let me know how it runs in your truck.

Save yourself $60 and just remove the tensioner instead of buying the tool.
Actually you can get to the aft tensioner bolt directly underneath it with a 12mm socket on a wobble extension. I had to remove two 10mm bolts for the little wire bundle that runs across the top front of the oil pan, and slide the wire bundle slightly to the drivers side to see the bolt head. Its there, a little tricky, but definitely quicker than taking off the a/c compressor.

Actually, it used to be sugar free Kool-Aid "Very Berry" but the FDA pulled the red dye #3.

I am doing some service on my 4Runner too (92K). So far i have (engine-wise): waterpump, timing belt, sp plugs and wires, engine belts, thermostat, and radiator hoses. I read this topic but i dont think the question was answered, do i need to buy any gaskets or seals that aren't FPIG? Also, anyother parts that i should add? I dont know how many miles i should acquire before doing the tensioner replacement. Help is appreciated, Thanks.
