ticking noise and oil pressure??
when my truck is warmed up to operating temp and at idle it has this ticking noise...rev it up just slightly and it goes away...all i have is a factory style oil pressure gauge that came with my cluster swap and it reads between the L and the first line on the gauge at idle...i know the 22re is supposed to have lower pressure at idle but should it be that low...seems like it should at least be to the first line...i'm running 5w30 oil maybe 10w30 would clear it up...i dunno...what do u guys think

My pressure is in that same range...between the L and first line. I've got the 6 banger in mine but mine runs great with the oil pressure being where it is.

My oil presure sit just past the first line when I am diving which has made me a bit concrened since I bout the truck (22re) but it has always been like that. I'ts good to hear you guys have low presure also, mabe it's normal. It will go down to noting if I sit at an Idle for a long time when it's warm.

Sounds like injector ticks or the normal valve train noise. The normal pressure for a warm engine at idle is between 5-9 for a 3.0 so I would think the 22r is not to far off those specs.

Yeah, the 3.0's are just a naturally noisy engine...I'm used to it now. But I do not notice a difference in noise that is dependant on the oil pressure.
