Thread for programming options digital cluster

Hi Folks

I want to make a thread for all the options on various things that we can do with our (98 onwards?) digital clusters. So,

1) Reset T-belt light on diesels:

1. T-BELT MODE DISPLAY RESET
a) With ignition turned ON, using the trip switch (select/reset button) change the display to ODO, and turn the ignition OFF
b) While pressing the trip switch, turn the ignition switch ON and hold it for 5 seconds.
c) Release the trip switch, then press the switch again within 5 seconds.
d) The digital display should change to T-belt mode. The initial display "15" (0,000km) is displayed (ie. 150,000km).

2. REWRITING REPLACEMENT VALUES
While in the T-Belt mode, each press of the trip switch will change the displayed value by 10,000km increments. Once " 20 " (200,000km) is reached the display reverts back to " 1 " (10,000km) again. Remember, this setting is the number of kilometres to be travelled before the light comes on next, and once reset this counter will start from zero.
I believe the timing belt interval for all the 100 series engine variants is 150,000km, but this should be checked against each different markets servicing recommendation. This being the case, you shouldn't need to change from the default setting of "15".
Obviously for the US, the ODO is in miles, and I guess the T-Belt warning would be set in 10,000 mile intervals.

3. T-BELT WARNING RESET COMPLETION
a) After setting the replacement setting value, hold the trip switch ON for more than 5 seconds then release the switch.
b) Check that the display has now changed back to ODO and that the warning light has gone off when the engine is started.
NOTE: If the T-Belt mode is completed, even though the belt replacement has not been performed, the T-Belt warning IS reset.

2) Recalibrating the fuel Gauge:

Recalibrating fuel level sensor:
There is also a TSB #EL010-99 that has the procedure for calibrating the fuel gauge.

This is for 1999 & 2000 model year 4Runners.

1. After replacing the meter circuit plate or inclination sensor, move the vehicle to a level location. (A surface with an inclination no greater than +- 0.5" is the target flatness)

2. With the ignition switch in the "OFF" position, press and hold the trip reset button.

3. Continue pressing the trip reset button while turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

4. Within 5 seconds of turning the ignition switch "ON", release the trip switch, press the trip switch 3 times, and on the third press hold the switch for 5 seconds. The buzzer will sound for 1 second at 800Hz.

5. After the buzzer stops, release the trip switch.

6. Press the trip switch one more time and hold for 5 seconds. Once more, the buzzer will sound for 1 second at 800 Hz.

7. The calibration process is completed.

Note: If in the operation of step 6, the buzzer sounds higher than that of step 5, turn the ignition switch to "OFF" position and repeat the setting procedure from step 2.

3) Changing the buzzer volume level on your keyless entry: (nothing to do with cluster but really handy to know!!)

i) Key not in cylinder, any door open. Press UNLOCK switch more than 5 sec and continue to hold down. Buzzer sounds 2 times, you are now in vol adjust mode. (there are 5 vol levels in total)
ii) To increase Vol - Press LOCK switch while holding down UNLOCK switch.
iii) to decrease Vol - Press BACK WINDOW OPEN switch while holding down UNLOCK switch.
iv) Release UNLOCK switch. buzzer sounds 2 times.

Anyone know any more?
