Well I got my rig put together for a 3000 mile roadtrip & it made it! Not even a bump in the road.

Springs went in fairly easy, although the extended brake-line was back ordered. And that LPSV line fitting was rusted to hell, so I didn't add that extender. HD's were not as harsh riding as I had expected, even w/o shocks...

Tires & wheels came off of Ebay, 32X12.50 on 15X8s. Rubbed at first until the hammer came out!

Front torsion bar adjuster bolts were also rusted, if not seized. Even w/ some pentrant & impact they still wouldn't budge! So front is still @ stock height.

Rig looks good....do you have the hellas mounted on the bumper (drilled), it looks like they mount through the grill.

The Hellas are mounted throught the grille, right where the V6 emblem is.

As for the running boards coming off, my girlfriend would kill me...

Very nice decal, I'd take one too, but I am not completely sold on the font, but I like the integrated toyota emblem!

Yeah, your rig looks great. I'm guessing you are geared for the 31s. Lucky...

I'm really pleased with my HDs too. The ride is good, no sag, and they come with all the parts needed to complete the job. Even loaded down they won't sag. I loaded down my stock springs once...not pretty.

I'm digging that sticker too. I may drop you an e-mail and see about getting one.

How did you do that? I thought that the only way to mount them was by drilling through the bumper.
I'm planning on getting some and mounting them this weekend and would rather not drill through my bumper if I don't have too.

That is why you go with a lesser degree of slider ie the 15 degree vs. a 30 degree.

Anyhow sweet ride- I have a minor fetish to the 2nd gen 4runners. Alot of it has to do with the tailgate design , and I miss that setup badly on the 99 , and now 02 4runner we have. It was really cool for my kids-then babies to be able to play around back there with the tailgate down when out on trips. Oh no I think I better stop I am getting sentimental :cry: .

I got to second Richard's idea - get rid of the running boards and put on the sliders. Functional and practical for BOTH on and off roading. I'm sure the girlfriend will understand

I'm sure Richard didn't put it up because he's going to be busy and won't be able to get them to you immediately but if you check out the thread you'll see a lot of people have nothing but good things to say about his work!

If you're concerned about welding on to the actual frame (like some people) check out his website and you'll see that he's got bolt on sliders as well

Great looking rig! Those foglights look good, though. I know you're gonna like the HD springs back there. I have mine with that set up and have enjoyed it so much. I just need to get some stubbs sliders to replace my running board to make my ride really look off roader.

I like the slider idea. Is the weld-on the way to go? Any preference?

My next mod is a new long-block & clutch. Anyone got any advice on that undertaking???

Some people say that the weld-on is stronger than the bolt-on - others say that it's the quality of the actual welds of the sliders themselves. I, personally, have no idea

I'd suggest that you go to the previously posted thread and find Richard's e-mail. Richard is VERY good with customer service and I'm sure will be able to answer any questions you have. Albeit - he is a little busy with the tall order he's filling. I'm sure he'll find the time to answer your questions though!

Midiwall (Mark) posted earlier today how well his set worked for him on a slider-reliant run. Really cool!
