Tacoma Lift Question
Hey fellas,
Alright, y'all know I've got a 4Runner, but I have a pretty good friend who is interested in running 285's on his Tacoma.
I figured a 2" suspension lift on a Tacoma should meet this goal - am I right? Would he still need a 1" body lift after that?
He doesn't have a ton of money to spend - I think SAW's up front would be out of his league. If he could find a total setup for $600-$700, that would probably be just right. This is what I was thinking about:
-2" Cornfed (or is it Cornbred?) spacers up front
-Downey (or a different brand) add-a-leafs in the rear, since I've heard that lift blocks in the rear are not very safe
-new longer Bilstein's all the way around
-front differential drop spacers
Alright, if you guys have any tips/info for me (since I don't know too much about lifting a Tacoma), or if you have any other set-ups to recommend, I would really appreciate it, as would my friend. Thanks a lot everyone-

That's what I was going to do on my old Tacoma. Dont forget about the little things such as an alignment, and various install parts. I say this because you mentioned your friend had a budget, and the little things can quickly take you over the edge.

I think if you just put in spacers up front (2") i think the most he can put in are 32x10.5. I think you can fit 33's but it'll rub alot... (something like that)
Best bet is the go to ttora.com and visit their forum and ask them cuz they all have tacomas and they know em more than any of us 4runner guys will!

Hey, thanks for the info fellas. Sorry I didn't get back to y'all earlier, but I am working all day now and don't have access to a computer, and we are on dial-up at home, so I tend to not get online as much as at school.
Thanks again-

if your buddy is on a budget, then i would highly recommend cornfed suspension. he needs atleast 2-3" of lift to clear the 285/75R16.
prices shipped for the kit (front spacer, rear aal, bpv, rear shocks)
2" kit - $300
2.5" kit - $290
3" kit - $305
you may want to buy new front shocks depending how many miles are on them... you could pick up a set for under $120.
i know the owner will be on vacation for the next two weeks so orders may go out a little slower than normal.
