Taco Time

I just bought a new-to-me 1996 Tacoma. It's a 4x4 with the 3.4l V6 and 5 speed. The only option it has is AC, it doesn't even have a trip odo or factory tach.

It's got some kind of undetermined 3" lift and it's on 33" KM2s; the rear springs are definitely newer and I don't think it's an AAL setup. It doesn't have spacers up front either.

This upper ball joint obviously needs to be replaced. This is an aftermarket adjustable setup since it's threaded, right? It's not marked that I can tell.

Now to my questions:

Is the speedometer mechanical or electric? I need to figure that out and correct it for the tires.
Is there wiring in place to add an aftermarket tachometer? I searched and came up with conflicting info
Is there a factory chime that sounds a couple times after you shut the motor off? I didn't find anything in my search, so it might have some kind of alarm system installed.
Is there a good way to remove odors from the interior? I bought it from a farmer and it smells like Jalepenos inside

I need to find some mudflaps for the front and fix the silly rear ones. I also plan on adding a tachometer and a scangauge.

Nice that it has manual hubs. Some one must have converted them. I was under the impression manual hubs only came with the 3rz 2.7 4 cyl..

manual hubs came on the early models pretty frequently. even 3.4 v6 5 speeds.

I figured out what the beeping noise is; the cheap Sony deck beeps multiple times when the key is turned off. I assume it's to remind you to take the face plate out or something

183k miles.

Here's what I know so far:

The front lift is a Downey setup and the rear springs are Alcans.
It has a diff drop that I'm going to take off since I have manual hubs.
I'm probably gonna sell the 33" KM2s and get some 31s because it's still on stock gears.
The girl I bought it from forgot her Plan B pill tucked in the wire under the seat. It might be time for plan C

Cool. When I bought my 97 new, I went with the 4 cylinder, none of 3.4's on the lot had manual hubs..

im assuming those km2's are 33x10.5x15? if you're interested in selling them, i may be interested in buying them seeing as you're in colorado as well.
