Tach problem!

Tach problem!

Does anybody know what color wire runs the tach?After engine swap and engine harness swap the tach goes to 3000 rpm and stays there.The connectors at the passenger kick panel had to be spliced and I got one or two wrong!

what engiens and what truck? my 22r has a little connector under the hood actually for hooking up a tach.....

Sorry,i took a 3vze out of an 89 pick-up w/standard and put it in a 92 4Runner w/ auto.I used the standard.Both had a V6.PS thats a big ole baby!Neither of my boys were that big or cute!

awww thanks, i love her

not sure how the ign sys works on the v6, but would you be able to tap the coil on the negative side? and run that to the tack? thats how most tachs work....

We'll try it.My manual is twenty miles away.Just thought I'd try ya'll before I drove to work.

Yea when I hooked up my tach, I tapped in to the negative side of the coil on my 3VZE.

problem solved ! The tach was fried!I tried a spare and it works.
