Sway in my 98 Tacoma
I've been a little concerned about some sway (body roll issues) with my truck when I get up to high speeds. Somewhere around 70 MPH she starts to sway back and forth especially when I have my kayak on top. I have a fiberglass topper with a kayak rack which is often loaded with one or more boats. I can grab my rack and EASILY rock the truck from side to side. I am familiar with SUVs and trucks and i know the issues with having a high center of gravity but this is different...
My tires probably need to be replaced within the next 5K.
I put new billisteins on in May so I don't think that my shocks are the issue.
I've noticed that my rear leaf springs are no longer curved up, one is flat and the other appears to be slightly bent in the down direction. I am planning to have this checked out in the shop this week, probably will have the springs rebent and any broken ones replaced and have an add a leaf installed. Could this be my problem??
I am also fairly certain that the front coils are stock.
I've checked the front sway bar bushings for wear and they seems to be alright, the rubber is still springy, no cracks ect.
I've also noticed that I do not have a rear sway bar, should I think about getting one? I don't do a lot of crawling, mostly hwy and occasional 4wd down logging roads to find put ins.
Thanks for the help!

I had the same problem and bought a pair of Toytech lift adjustable, front coils and shocks and it seemed to do the trick. I have not had any swaying since I had them installed.
It was a bummer, because I had bought some Bilsteins back in January, but they did not help the swaying.
It could be something else, but replacing the coils did the trick for me.

Springs are probably excessively worn due to age. Probably be best to just replace em all.
Trucks with leaf springs don't need rear sway bars.
If you replace the springs and still think a rear sway bar would be a good idea look into the Currie Anti Rock SB.
