swapping out lamp behind hot/cold dial in '02 4runner

there's been alot of talk about interior lamps here recently so i figured this would be a good time to ask. the bulb behind the dial for hot/cold (middle dial) of the temperature control cluster on the dash went out a while ago and i havent been able to figure out how to get to it to replace it. i tried searching but didnt really find anything...can anyone point me in the right direction? it's an '02 4runner. thanks!

pull off your knobs and plastic slide switch ends and pull the cover off. just did mine. The a/c button will pull out with it.

is this the same on my '02 as it is on your '98? the cover seems to be held in by the surrounding molding, even if i take off the dials.

I just did mine on my '00. Pop the lower shifter trim off, then pop the radio surround bezel off, pull off the dials, the the HVAC cover plate pops off, and you can get to the lights. The light bulbs just pulls out and are at any auto parts store. But be careful with the green gel bulb covers, I ripped mine when pulling the bulb out and now my HVAC display is green and orange... I'm waiting for more green gel bulb covers in the mail.

I got the gel covers and the green is totally different. Toyotas green is more of a yellow green, while this green is just plain green. Any ideas on where to get better matching bulb covers?
