swappable 3rds? V6>TRD housing
so i know you can do a trd 3rd into a stock housing with some modifications. now can you go the other way? putting a stock open V6 3rd into a trd housing? saw the comparison pics of the housing on the elocker swap site, but still cant figure it out. the elocker has extra studs, and needs extra clearance that part i know..but what i dont know is if the stock V6 8incher can be put in for emergency purposes like incase you blow your R&P etc etc..
thanks!!
thanks!!

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is a "No".
1) The opening is different (note the notch taken out on the driver's side where the locker mechanism enters the housing).
2) The long bolts are in a different place than the similarly matched bolts from the non-locked 3rd (if that makes any sense). Here's a picture:
See those yellow circles at the top and bottom of the red rectangle? Those are the long bolts. See the bolt holes JUST to the left of those? Those are the none-locked equivalent bolt holes (also note, this is a converted non-locked housing - meaning it has both sets of holes).
Now I haven't done this myself, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. I know you shouldn't be answering questions when you aren't a 1st party, but I think this is correct. Please correct me if I'm wrong people (ie. Schaffer, Bob-o, paddlenbike, etc.)
