Suspension Question (OME Shocks & Springs)
I just got a quote of $1,355.00 (parts & labor) to upgrade my stock suspension on my 2002 SR5 4Runner 4X4 to OME shocks & springs. Does this seem reasonable?

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO!!!
I'd say max I'd go is 800-850. considering the parts are only $600. They're charging you +$500 just to install springs and shocks. Dood you can fly anybody from yotatech to ur place for that amount. Maybe even 2 of them!! *hint *hint
But seriously, if you need instructions, I'm about to do mine in a few weeks, so I pretty much know what you gotta do and have all the torque specs ready to go. My parts are on the way!!

Where's a good place to order the parts from? This guy quoted me a price of $900.00 for the parts alone. I wonder why he told me it would cost so much for the install??? Can you say, "ripoff"???!!!

Thanks. I'll give him a shout. The only reason I went to this other place is because when I received ARB's catalog, they listed this place as one of their authorized dealers and they are somewhat local to where I live. However, I'm not about to get ripped off so I'll just have to find another shop to install the OME gear. I'm not about to pay almost $500.00 for labor. That's ridiculous. I'm glad you guys replied to my post.

If you don't mind a stiffish ride, I'll sell you my HD bilsteins and HD OME coils (front only) for really cheap, say $50 +shipping. I had to get some adjustables b/c of my bumper (and soon a winch :pig: ) and I got the adjustables really cheap. Plus, anything for a fellow yotatechy! I actually miss the stiffness of my HD setup. I haven't gotten a chance to crank up the downeys to the correct height, which changes spring rate so hopefully it will get a bit stiffer. Anyway, let me know if you want the HDs, I just took swapped them out and havent even had a chance to put them in the classifieds section and I thought I would let you get a stab at it first.

Is that offer good for anyone?
If so, which springs are they? Are they 882's and are they Bilstein BE5-2450?

if they are the 882's, you won't want to put them on a rig without a tjm or arb up front. Your cv's will most likely explode (exaggeration) , which is what happened to Mertztr

They were not meant for the tjm, thats why I had to take them off. They were fine w/o even getting the diff drop. They were only on the truck for about 8 months though. I would recomend the diff drop no matter what lift you get though. It's cheap insurance.

Its the 892's that Tom had, he was getting ~4 inches of lift. The standard OME springs that people get do not provide enough lift with the TJM bumper. Even with the stock bumper, a small spacer is needed to achieve a full 3 inches.

They are the 882s (off the xtremeoff-road site).
Jim, Matt has first dibs as it was offered to him, but I haven't heard anything from him yet. Next MTL4Runner had sent me a PM a day before you posted so he is next in line. I will let you know if he changes his mind or it falls through. I'll give Matt 5 days to respond, he has yet to show interest though.

Yes, I had the 882's up front for about a week, CV's were leaking like mad even with zip ties, but they didn't explode!!
Some people are lucky to have CV's that don't leak with 882's, I was just not one of them

I am not running any aftermarket bumpers and don't plan to either.
