Supercharger install question
I'm currently installing a new TRD supercharger and the URD supercharger performace kit on my 97 Taco 4x4 MT. The vacuum diagram on the TRD instructions aren't very clear for my truck. There is a vacuum switch at the side of the power steering pump with two lines, one side goes into the intake silencer and the other one used to go to the Intake Plenum. On the instructions it shows to plug the other opening on the Intake Silencer, but what do I do with the other end, just plug it? So in a sense that vacuum switch would be doing nothing??? I started up the engine and I wasn't able to feel a vacuum on the open line, but that was only at idle...
Thanks,
Rob

Well not sure but I have a 96 4runner and if its teh one I am thinking about dosn't that go to the back of the intake plenum by the throttle body .
Have a picture may help us figure out which line it is. The only other one on mine that didn't really match up the the TRD instructions was the vacum line from the 4WD selinoids (sp) and what looked like a charcol canister that I "T" into the supercharger lines on the right.

Yep I know exactly what you are talking about. I ended up T'ing it off of the brake booster line.
Here are some pics of what he is talking about
PS lines and the one to the silencer box
This one went to the intake plenium
This pic doesn't have the T that I put into it, but you can see the vac line that comes off of the brake booster. (ignore the writing)
I just extended the factory line

Travis,
I noticed you moved your 4wd VSV line to "T" into the line by the throttle body, is that a better source than what's listed in the instruction manual.

Ok, the power steering line is T'ed into the spot where the 4x4 line was in the pic above. I remember that I was gonna T it into the brake booster line, but didn't want to mess with any of my brake stuff. So I ended up moving the 4x4 line to the throttle body vac line. This was recommended by several people on 4x4wire.com (back when I posted there).
Sorry for the confusion.
