supercharger fuel mods question

I have a 2000 4runner Limited with a supercharger, TRD headers, TRD exhaust, amsoil filter, TRD thermostat, TRD transcooler, 2 step colder iridium plugs, deckplate mod, free FMU, Split Second air/fuel ratio, and 275/45/20 tires (if that makes a difference)

I bought 305cc injectors and a S-AFC but haven't installed them yet

Here are my questions:
1. If I install the fuel injectors and the s-afc, is it okay if I drive it for a little while, before getting the s-afc tuned in? The installation and tuning will be done from two different places.

2. What are good air/fuel ratios that I need to be trying to achieve?

3. Should I have the walbro pump installed or not? I thought I remember Gadget saying that it would be needed if I am going over like 90 miles per hour. If it will not help me accelerate from stop lights or overtake vehicles on the highway then I don't need it.

thanks for your replies and I apoligize for asking so many questions

Do not drive it until you tune the S-AFC. It could cause major problems if it's not set right.

this is exactly what will happen....'

you will set off a check engine light

the engine will cut spark at 3500rpm, also known as "drop off"

you will saturate the catalytic conv., wont pass smog, burn out the post-cat O2 sensor and void the remainder of the factory warranty.

---yes you should get the better fuel pump, it provides better acceleration due to higher fuel pressure.

Installing the SAFC or the Split Second unit for that matter will void the warrenty regardless of whether it's done right or not. Speaking of which, why do you need the SAFC when you already have the SS A/F controller?

I guess I wasn't clear
I only have the split second air/fuel ratio meter
thanks for the replies everyone

The only reason I was fearing the walbro pump was because everyone warned me about the loud whine it makes. I already hate the supercharger whine, so if it is anything louder than that then forget it. The main reason I got my TRD exhaust was to cover up the supercharger noise. Since the fuel pump and exhaust are located in similar locations, do you think it will cover up the noise from the pump?

i think it would be fine to install them and use Gadget's AFC settings for a stock MAF (i.e. low throttle -15%, high throttle -5% i think - double check on his site) before getting them tuned perfectly. you'll at least be in a safe range, if not perfect.

as far as desired A/F, under wide open throttle you want it rich to beat down detonation . . . 13:1 to 12.5:1 (last blue two lights on your SS meter). if you are leaner than that, like stoich, you risk blowing a hole in the piston . . . this has been done by members, so make sure you don't let it happen.

by the way, have you installed that A/F meter yet? because you might not have a heated O2 sensor at all. my 2000 doesn't, so i can't use a standard A/F meter like the SS unit.

the bigger fuel pump is a good idea . . . cheap, and only takes an hour and a 1/2 to install, and you'll pick up HP on the high RPM range in all gears.
