Supercharger in a 1995.5 - What's the story?!?
I have a 1995 Tacoma with the 3.4L V6, and I would like to add a supercharger.
I have been told that the ECU in the 95 and 96 Tacoma's is different than the ECU in later models and it cannot adjust to the increase in air, thus running lean and damaging the engine.
I just got off the phone with the service manager at the Toyota dealership and he told me that this only applies to the T100 and NOT the Tacoma. I asked if he was sure and he said DEFINATELY.
I am really confused. Is anyone out there running a supercharger on a 5VZFE in a 1995 or 1996 Tacoma? If so, did you have to do any ECU mods to get it to work?
I appreciate your responses. Thanks!
