Suggestions for best lift to clear 33" tires on a 2000 tacoma
I want to clear 33" tires, and not break the bank. I also do not want to worry about too much modification to the drivetrain. This is my daily driver and I do not want any additional wear.
I have heard that a 2.5" lift is the maximum to not interfere with the drivetrain. Is a 1'' body lift a good idea to get the added lift? Does the body lift require much work if it is only 1"? Would 3.5" clear 33 x 11.5 tires?
I have looked at OME, Revtech, and toytech. I would like to hear what others have done that works. Thanks.

this has been covered many times in these forums, if u search it there are alot of threads on this, welcome to yotatech. I had a 4in trailmaster bracket lift on my older truck and it always worked as i wanted and never let me down. I used it as my daily driver for a year and had no problems.

I say go with 2-3" body lift. It's cheap and won't break the bank, which you said you want, and it requires zero modification to drivetrain, which you said you want.

R u running 15 or 16 inch rims bro? 2.5 inches clears a 285/75/16 without rubbing on my 4runner. I think that is the equivalent of a 33x11.50. Knowing you, you won't be running any serious trails with a daily driver, but 2.5 inches should clear it no problem. plus, you'd have more ground clearance but afford a lower center of gravity (COG) than with the body lift.

You want bigger tires with no "additional wear" and no "driveline modifications"? good luck
I am suprised that no one has asked you about regearing yet, and bigger tires and wheel will always result in some form of increased wear on the vehicle
I want a truck with 300hp that gets 30mpg with 35 inch tires
Sorry to come off as a jerk, but do a search and you will find all of these answers in triplicate, what I would do: just put the tires on there and if they rub, then put a body lift or spacer lift or just trim where you need to, that's the cheapest, so not really the best
edit: Oh yeah, welcome to yotatech! search is your friend
