suggestion on what clutch to get?
i have an 87 toyota with 4:88's, 33's and 22r engine with cam. i need a new clutch. the one i have in there now the pressure plate is on its last leg. iam a pavement pounder mostly, an wondering who make the best for me? centerforce, LC, downey< and the hard to understand catalog> or marlin crawler. i like marlin crawler's its 180 and includes the T/O and pilot bearing too with the clutch and pressure plate. any input will be great thanks. BTW im in college and funds are low so real expensive is out of question... oh one more thing, are short shifters good to have or a waste of $$???

There is absolutly nothing wrong with the Genuine Toyota clutch components. My original clutch lasted nearly 160,000 miles. I bet $2 that your truck has the original one as well.
Get Genuine Toyota parts, you won't be sorry.

I agree with the genuine Toyota being a great clutch. But I have had a Center Force Dual-Friction in both my 95 Taco and my 2000 Runner. and love it. It gives my the added grip when I need it. I know it may be alittle over-kill on a supercharged Runner but it gives me piece of mind to know that the holding power is there when I need it.
