Talking Suffer from Dual Exhaust Envy? DO NOT click here!!

UPDATE: Old thread, but new pics..

Sorry I'm so excited I just have to brag.

Just picked up my baby today with her new dual exaust, and I have to say that I'm really impressed with the job that was done. I'll post better pics when I get her on a rack, but I'll just say he did an excellent job wrapping up over the rear cross member with both 2 1/4" pipes. Muffler is a flopro, single in dual out. The sound outside is great, inside the vehicle is a little higher pitched than I was hoping for, but it will break in and mellow out. Overall I'm extremely pleased.

This better work:

Oh yeah, my deckplate and amsoil filter came in today.... feels like Christmas.

question...

why have dual exhaust if you only have 1 input on your muffler? purely aesthetic?

Yup, pretty much. You'll get the gains you'd expect from any freer flowing exhaust. Some will say you're opening it up too much and losing low-end, which I havn't noticed, and adding a S/C will hopefully fix that.

Personally I've always thought that the 'unique' look it would give would be a big plus. I don't like looking like everyone else's out there, nice to have some custom touches.

I do think that it makes it sound better than a single, almost 350ish. Which isn't for everyone. But so far I like it. Let's see how it sounds after some freeway cruising though.

Dude, I think it looks sweet. I've always wanted duals on my runner.

And,as far as 1 into 2 look at most "high performance" cars out there and you'll see the same thing. Ex: Older Corvettes, Camaros, Etc.

I'm anxious to see the picks of how it was bent.

Yeah, I'm curious as well. Did you have to take your spare out or did they do some major magic? I have wanted duals as well, but figured I'd wait til I got an s/c to warrent the loss in back pressure. I bet your happier than a fly in horse sh_ _

Thanks for the praise!

Since I last posted I put my deckplate and amsoil on, this definitely changed the pitch a bit, and I like it!!

I was able to keep the spare and he avoided gas tank, brake lines, etc. I really don't understand how he pulled it off. Magic is probably a good guess. Took him a whole day to do it. He'd never done it on one before, and he said that if he did it again if would cost much more for the next guy.
The guy is amazing, he's been with Midas over 20 years and my Dad's been having him work oon his stuff about that long.

I'll definitely get some pics ASAP, I'm just kicking myself that I forgot my camera when I picked it up. :pat:

It'd be considered kinda ricey if I had that done on my Eclipse but I think I might do a similar setup on my Runner when I do the exhaust plus I should take advantage of the savings I get from my friend being an exhaust guy.
