stupid rear axel

Has anyone else had a LOT of trouble with their rear axle seal braking and messing up there brakes? I know i have posted about the problem before, but it happend again. I think this is the 5th or 6th time. This time I am going to call Toyota and try and demand a new rear end. I have had it fixed at two different dealerships. ERRR! Well, let me know if you guys have any ideas.

Mine has gone out twice (that I know of).
I bought my 4Runner Dec 2001 and noticed that it was leaking last October. I had it done under warrenty, and a month later it happened again. The dealership checked my axle and said that it was a defective part (seal spring was missing) and replaced the seal and pads again.

Have you checked the breather?
Has the dealership checked the rear axle?

Are you paying everytime the seal blows out?

I've only had it happen once in the "just over a year" that I've owned, but I'm thinking it will be an ongoing problem. Do you think it occurs from doing something in particular? I.E taking it off-road versus just sitting/driving pretty on pavement?

I don't think that taking it off-road would effect it, unless the breather gets clogged and it cannot vent.
Maybe it is just a problem with the Desert Dune 4Runners!!

LOL...could be. No, i haven't been paying for it everytime. The first time it broke, it was just barley under the warenty (59,950 miles on the 60,0000 mi. warenty-not planned). Luckily, they have fixed it everytime after that becuase it gets a new 1 yr warenty on the parts. So i have not paid anything for it. I just want to get it fixed. I cant even push my 4Runner when it is in neutral because of one of my rear brakes.

Maybe a paint job would fix the problem.
